Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee – reputable, delicious fried kway teow with fresh, poppingly juicy cockles!
Cockles in char kway teow should be plentiful. Enough to have at least one every mouthful. It should be fresh, juicy, flavourful, and large, full of the volume it deserves.
When you bite into your mouthful of char kway teow, the cockle should go pop in your mouth. The delicious juices should then envelop your mouth, mix with the sweet soya sauce.

Enough to get a piece of cockle with every bite!
The combination with the wok hei, along with the crunch of the flavourful crispy pork lard should wake up your palates and transport you to the hidden dimension of char kway teow paradise. 😊

Go early to avoid the long queues.
When it comes to fried kway teow, like chicken rice, it is often a contentious topic among its many fans. Arguments will erupt, and tempers can flare. 🔥 Despite their strong opinions, all of them agree that char kway teow is definitely among Singapore’s favourite foods. 🤝

Look carefully, you’ll see the plumb cockles resting comfortably in there.
Amidst all the favourite stalls supported by fans around Singapore, the name “Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee” will come up often. So one early morning, while on our way to a meeting in the vicinity, we dropped by to check them out.
We were fortunate to have arrived early. A short queue was already forming by the time we got there. When we got our orders, it looked like any other char kway teow we’ve had before.
But then we sat down and took a second look, which was when we noticed the cockles. Generous servings of fresh, plumb cockles were comfortably nestled among the kway teow on the plate.

Cockles galore!
As we polished our plate clean, we must agree that their outstanding reputation is well deserved. 👍🏻 I know that it’s already been recommended countless times by many. Still, I would be happy to add myself to the list of supporters of this great stall! 👍🏻👏🏻

They start early. Go early to get it fresh!
