Jalan Tua Kong Lau Lim Mee Pok at Simpang Bedok
Mee Pok, I dare say it’s among the most popular dishes in Singapore. And this particular morning, I found myself at Jalan Tua Kong Lau Lim Mee Pok Simpang Bedok. I noticed their usually crowded Mee Pok stall had a shorter than usual queue.
So I took the opportunity to quickly place an order for their popular Mee Pok dry, with chilli.

Pretty crowded outside of meal times…
My order was ready 20 minutes later, and it looks pretty impressive. The balance between the number of ingredients versus the Mee Pok is just right. I stirred the delicious-looking bowl to give it all a good mix before I tucked in.

Busy serving station…
I started with the soup.
Mmmm! Savoury! ?
The soup serves as an excellent way to open up your palates. Next, I took a nice slurp of the Mee Pok, and I am wowed by how it’s perfectly cooked!

The famous Mee Pok! Looking delicious! I’m so ready to dig in!
The tension is sharp, and there is a nice little crunch to it. The right proportions of sauces are used, with the pork lard and chilli enhancing the beautiful flavours that are exquisite!
The handmade fishballs are tender, and it too, had a nice crunch when I took a bite out of it. Mixing a piece of fishball with the minced meat and slices of fishcake along with a spoonful of Mee Pok is one of the best ways to enjoy this. Top that spoonful of taste with a piece of chopped chilli will give it a pop that takes it to another level.
The meal was over in no time. I washed this delicious meal down with a cup of teh-o kosong, feeling satisfied!

Desserts.

Wu Xiang prawn crackers.
I noticed that they also serve a selection of Wu Xiang Prawn Crackers and desserts, but I was already full from the meal to try them out. But I will definitely be back to have a go at them next time!
