Taste of the Origins of Chilli Crab at Roland Restaurant
Heard that they invented the chilli crab and that they still serve the original recipe. Just note that you have to specifically request for the original recipe (without eggs). If not, they will serve the “modern” version (with eggs).

Original recipe crab! Creamy but look… No eggs…

Personally I like it… A good alternative taste to the eggy version these days…

The fried mantou goes well with it…
The original recipe feels more ketchup-like than chilli, not so spicy, lighter in taste, not as rich in flavour as the modern rendition.
Personally, I like it, but I must admit that it most likely won’t appeal to the masses. It’s good to experience it at least once to know how this dish has evolved over the years.
