3. Katong Mei Wei – Delicious Boneless Chicken Rice

Katong Mei Wei Chicken Rice has been around since 1989. One of the local favourite food includes the Hainanese chicken rice that travelled the seas from Southern China onto the shores of Singapore.

4. Xiao Di Fried Prawn Noodle

Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle is a hawker dish amongst the local favourite. As with every local, there are a few variations to the dish.

At Xiao Di Fried Prawn Noodle, they serve the wetter version with thick bee hoon. It is made by frying egg, beansprout, yellow noodle, rice vermicelli and garlic in lard oil, to bring out their full fragrance, before binding it all together with a thick prawn stock.

Garnish with chives and crispy fried lard. To fully enjoy their noodle, they recommend you stir in some lime juice, and also their specially made chilli if you like it spicy.
